Stremio is designed to be simple and powerful. Once you log in, your configuration is saved to your account and automatically synced across all your devices.
👤 1. Create or Log into Your Account
Your account is essential. It stores your:
- Watch history
- Library
- Add-ons
- Settings and preferences
To get started:
- Open the app or go to Stremio Web.
- Click Log in / Sign up.
- You can log in using:
- Email + Password
- Guest account (⚠️ settings won’t sync!)
✅ Once logged in, everything you do is linked to your account and backed up in the cloud.
🧩 2. Add and Configure Add-ons
- Go to the Add-on Catalog (🧩 icon).
- Install your preferred add-ons (like Torrentio, YouTube, etc.).
- Some add-ons (like Torrentio) offer advanced configuration:
- Visit external configurators
- Copy the generated URL
- Install via “Add-on URL”
All your installed add-ons and custom settings are saved to your account.
🎛️ 3. Customize Settings
Click on the gear icon in the bottom-left (⚙️ Settings) to access:
General Settings:
- Language
- Preferred subtitle language
- Default video player (internal, VLC, external)
Library Settings:
- Notifications
- Continue watching queue
- Sorting preferences
Streaming Settings:
- Playback quality
- Preferred sources
- Auto-play next episode
Changes you make here are automatically saved to your account.
🔄 4. Syncing Across Devices
When you log into your Stremio account on a new device:
- All your add-ons reappear
- Your library and watched videos are restored
- Your preferences are synced
No need to reconfigure each time — just log in and continue where you left off.
This works on:
- Desktop apps (Windows, macOS, Linux)
- Mobile (Android, iOS)
- Smart TVs (via casting or supported apps)
- Web browsers
