Stremio is a fantastic app for streaming all kinds of content, and one of its best features is how widely available it is across different platforms. However, if you’re trying to install Stremio on an Amazon Fire TV or Firestick, you might notice that it’s not listed in the Amazon Appstore.
Don’t worry — installing Stremio on these devices is still very easy, and only requires a few quick steps.
To begin, you’ll need to install an app called Downloader. On your Fire TV home screen, select Find and then Search. Type “Downloader” into the search bar, and when you see it in the list of results, select it and install it like any other app.
Once Downloader is installed, you’ll need to adjust a small security setting to allow installations from outside the Amazon store. Hold down the Home button on your Fire TV remote to access Settings, then go to My Fire TV. In there, find Developer Options, and open Install unknown apps. You’ll see a list of apps — find Downloader and switch it to On.
Now you’re ready to install Stremio. Open the Downloader app, and when prompted for a URL, enter: https://www.stremio.com/downloads
This will take you to the official Stremio downloads page. Look for the section called Stremio for Android TV, and select the ARM APK version to download it. Once the download finishes, an installation window will appear. Simply click Install, wait for it to complete, and then click Done.
To keep your device clean, it’s a good idea to delete the APK file after installing the app. When the Downloader asks if you want to delete it, just confirm by clicking Delete.
That’s it! You can now find Stremio among your apps. Open it, log in to your account, and enjoy streaming your favorite series and movies right from your Fire TV or Firestick.
Tip: If you experience any playback issues, make sure your internet connection is stable and that your Fire TV’s software is up to date.
